Trigger: sexual assault, violence against women

I woke up this morning thinking about #PromisingYoungWoman and nice guy culture.

I'm pretty sure every man whose ever sexually assaulted me was a "nice guy."

The nice guys are the ones who don't exactly force you to do things (at least not overtly) but they absolutely see opportunities to take advantage of women as part of sexual interactions.

The nice guys are the ones who make you feel safe just so that you'll be comfortable sexually with them.

The nice guys will befriend you and say things like "we don't have to have sex" as they mention sex at every point of the day.

Nice guys are hella dangerous to women who still want to believe that all men aren't terrible.

We don't talk enough about how low the bar is for "nice guys."
