Already seeing a bit of a divide amongst fans re the club, Soriano & moving on. As ever, two things can be true. No doubt the execs have been brought us great success, but they also failed us catastrophically with this. Backtracking due to public pressure doesn't change that.
I get why some want to move on. I get why some want Soriano sacked. I understand why someone could be in the middle and not arsed too. Life is complicated, tiring and difficult. Some want to pick their battles and just move on. However, this was huge. Emotions are rightfully high
And it doesn't make those wanting consequences for board members traitors or anything. Nah, they've got every fucking right to be furious. I am. For some it will be impossible to fix. I also get that. Honestly don't know I agree, but time will tell. Guess my point is... (cont)
...that this is an intensely complicated and emotional situation. I'm not going to tell someone who wants action that they're wrong. If you're happy to move on, fair enough, but it might not be worth telling those that aren't ready yet that they're wrong. Cos they're not.
At the same time, I sorta understand why someone just wants to watch KDB kick a football dead fucking hard and forget that the execs ever exist. Cos we're all human, and we're an odd species. Personally, I won't be going out to bat for our owners anymore. That's my choice.
And I've come to that decision because I know they don't care about us really, deep down. We can pretend they do, but not really sure what that accomplishes. You don't have to think that to still follow the club, cos City are more than the high level execs, quite clearly.
Bearing all that in mind, fuck em really. I don't know if the combination of words exists to make me trust them again, but time will tell. All I know is that i've defo come out of this with immense amounts of respect for Pep and the players too, which makes it more palatable.
Anyway, up the blues.
The final thought I forgot to add. I understand the argument that they were 'forced' into this. Not sure it's that simple, but anyway - if so, don't be so fucking cowardly. A Glazer quote on our site? Not daring to front up to it and leaving Pep explain? Sorry, we deserve better.
