Watching the Super League unravel last night, I was amazed at how every part of the launch had been a complete mess. So I thought about what a good launch might have looked like. This is what I came up with

2. Lead with the reason, not the product. There was no narrative, no big moment that made this make sense – it came so out of the blue that it didn't even feel opportunistic. 4. No critique: from VAR, to costs for fans, to corruption, there's plenty of reasons people think football is broken.

5. If no one behind the idea is willing to publicly say it's good, people might conclude that it's... bad
