introduction: when i tell you this series has it ALL, i’m dead serious. action, drama, romance, suspense, friendships, rivalries, betrayals, plot twists, and major character development/depth throughout the entire cast. it will make you cheer but man... it WILL make you cry more.
the MC: hanagaki takemichi, also known as the “crybaby hero.” he’s VERY selfless and wears his heart on his sleeve; although he acknowledges that he is weak, that never stops him from carrying the burden in order to save others. he’s highly respectable to me (and the cast.)

i don’t wanna spoil too much, but his personal growth is honestly amazing to watch. just knowing all of the trauma he had to experience and watch first-hand that involves his friends, and to STILL have the determination to move forward for their sake, never ceases to amaze me.

the entire cast is INCREDIBLY well-written, and it’s not that often that i would give this much credit for it. the way every character is somehow connected to each other... and the fact they all have their own insanely heartfelt back story makes me feel for them DEEPLY.

that being said, the friendships that are created and built are incredible. there are actually a lot of tragedies, conflicts, and betrayals between characters that test the whole gang... but the story will really show you the true definition of a “ride of die” type of friend.

on the flip side, main antagonist of the series is also written phenomenally. he is literally the essence of pure evil and it’s honestly impossible to emphasize with him at all given how mentally fucked up he is, but he really does make an insane ass villain.
the emotional rollercoaster just makes you attached to the whole series. there are a handful of wholesome moments but *warning* you WILL feel heartbreak most of the time... and when pieces of information start falling into place and big events happen, you will understand.
