As we are born, the first thing we need is air, food and water.
THEN we NEED safety and security in the form of shelter.
ONCE SAFETY AND SECURITY IS DONE, we NEED friendships, family and intimate sexual partners.
After it is DONE, we NEED respect in society.

..and self actualization & creative NEEDS.

These things in the hierarchy of needs are not things that are nice things to have.
These things are NOT at your disposal.
Every human being has these needs.
It's a must have.

The next key point is to acknowledge that the needs build on top of each other.
You CANNOT eat food without breathing air.
You CANNOT build shelter, without having food.
You cannot HAVE sex, without having a decent place to have sex, or if you are broke.

Each "needs" build on top of each other.
You cannot get a higher need satisfied without getting your lower needs done.

Unfortunately in majority of the countries people are not born into a wealthy family such that they can pursue higher level needs like creativity and self actualization.
Infact they have to struggle to get their lower level needs done.

Because CREATIVITY & SELF actualization are the epitome of needs.
People need to work in silly UN-Creative jobs to gain respect in society, by earning money.

Automation short circuits this problem by doing the UN-Creative jobs for us and giving us a share of the huge profits generated by automation.(UBI)
This frees us to explore our ultimate potential.

As you move up higher the pyramid, you get Higher satisfaction satisfying the needs.
For eg: the pleasure you get from breathing is lesser than the pleasure from sex, which is lesser than the pleasure from self actualization.

So yes, Automation will free up people, so that they will pursue true art, surpassing and destroying any stupid capitalistic standards imposed upon CREATIVITY.
