There are many post about how developers should approach publishers, but not so many the other way around. I am not looking for a publisher right now but since I have been contacted by quite a few, I thought I would share some things I appreciated when talking to publishers >
Might sound a bit snarky but I do appreciate it when you get my name correct.
If I was going to bet my future on someone, the one who got my name wrong is going way back on the list.
When publishers who have started a conversation have dedicated time and effort to continue it in a somewhat frequent manner untill we find common ground on how to move forward. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👌" title="OK-Hand" aria-label="Emoji: OK-Hand">
I love when publishers have a questionaire. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="❤️" title="Rotes Herz" aria-label="Emoji: Rotes Herz">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="❤️" title="Rotes Herz" aria-label="Emoji: Rotes Herz">
Absolutely would worship a publisher who could share a reference pitch, including prototype.
When a publisher makes me feel like a person and not a product https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🎉" title="Partyknaller" aria-label="Emoji: Partyknaller">
When I feel momentum and clear continuous objectives as to what the publisher need from me to move forward.
Might add some more things if anything comes to mind. Happy hunting!
