Jeri Henry, the woman in charge of EOAA/harassment complaints at Columbia, in a thread for those on the fence about that new contract giving her total control @GWCUAW @CareCommCU @C_AWDU:
Threatened student with Dean’s Discipline for saying Henry’s office was failing students at a rally; claimed it was “defamation” and the student would be expelled for criticizing her again.
Outright laughed at a survivor when the survivor asked Henry if Student Conduct (her former office at Columbia) would advocate for the survivor to get basic academic accommodations. (The survivor recorded her literally laughing in response.)
Threatened to expel at least three survivors for reporting sexual assault, claiming that them reporting was “retaliation” against their rapists — and put two through full investigations for retaliation.
Shared details of a student’s confidential sexual assault case in front of a group of other students in a meeting about policy proposals without the student’s consent.
Accused me and a friend, @mockingbsquared, of attempting to break into her office while shouting profanities. We asked for the security camera footage of this mythical instant and unsurprisingly have seen nothing.
Not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things but told me, when I asked for locks on our dorm suite doors after I was raped twice, that she was worried I wasn’t “willing to engage with Columbia’s rigorous academic program.”
Oversaw the investigation into my rapes and signed off on the findings that basically accused me of manufacturing male DNA,
self-inflicting torn tendons and permanent internal nerve damage, and pointed out I failed to wear a bra under my pajamas because it meant ... 🤷‍♀️
This is the person GWC’s bargaining committee is asking students to trust to uphold their rights. Jeri Henry has never hesitated to ignore policies in the past. Nothing in writing will keep survivors safe with EOAA still in charge.
