I remember that show “what would you do?” did an experiment once where they had 2 groups of kids—one Black & one white—perform the same behavior of vandalizing a car. Ppl either ignored the white kids or simply told them to stop. But they called police on the Black kids...

...If that wasn’t enough of a demonstration of racism & policing, while the white kids were vandalizing the car, someone ignored the white kids & instead called the cops on a Black man who was taking a nap in his car, who wasn’t even part of the experiment.

That gut reaction that sees violent interaction b/w Blk & brown kids & cops & doesn’t see anything wrong w/ it—that’s racism. Even the need to justify it as something else. White children aren’t treated that way & not b/c they’re better. If you think they are, that’s 100% racism
