This is the story of a shy, introverted boy who dreamed to be a singer. He went for an open audition at 11 with nothing but his raw talent and dreams. And got selected as a trainee! He debuted in an experimental group at 15. But being the weakest vocalist, had no lines on his own
The experimental group was a surprising smashing success! He gained fame as the fresh youngest/baby member. Still so shy in interviews. He gave up a normal student life to train so hard to become better.
His vocals improved. He got more lines in songs. His dancing skills were noticed by the industry. To his own surprise, the company picked him to be their first male soloist to debut when he was 21.
There was no blueprint to follow. So another experimentation. This time on his own. There was hate thrown at him for being picked. But he persevered and what a great, astounding debut it was. From a young boy to now a young man.
He wanted more. So he pushed the boundaries with each album. Fought with company execs for creative control. Went against the mainstream trends to create his own brand and genre.
Somewhere along the way, after countless hours of hard work and sacrifices that only he would know, he can now belt out songs with ease. His vocals are impeccable. His dance skills lauded. His performance legendary.
Sounds like a kdrama or those inspirational movies? This is the real life story of Lee #Taemin . And the fucking idiots at SM cannot market or PR this genuine, great story.
If business schools need a case study on how NOT to conduct marketing or pr campaign, this is it. But students may be too focused on Taemin instead of studying i guess
