There's a lot of value to be created just by uncomplicating things that people have been overcomplicating.

Programming is a prime example. Code is a powerful tool, and anyone can learn to think in code. But programming today is far too complicated.
Technologists shouldn't just make things possible. They should make them simple. In many ways it's far more difficult. To something possible you just need to be clever. To make it simple you need vision. Intelligence is common, vision is rare.
This is probably my biggest takeaway from my time in the tech industry. There are lots of smart people out there who can make almost anything possible. But very few people can make something simple.
