I thread about Jade Carey´s situation...
and why this is usag´s fault and fig´s st*pid rules

Before i started: sorry for my grammar ...
Note: i won´t put any dates cause idk any, and i might be wrong about some rules cause not even FIG understands them, so feel free to correct me, also if i miss something let me know it

First of all: how to qualify for the Olympics?
The teams will qualify by worlds 2018 and 2019 (4person team)
The teams that qualified might attend to the AA cups in which they can earned 1 of the 3 extra spot (cause of COVID the spots were relocated to top 3: USA, RUS, CHN)

By Apparatus Cups, the gymnast who places #1 at one apparatus qualifya as specialist limited to 1 per country
Idk how many gymnast they could send but ik it´s more than 1, also I´m not sure which are the criterias for a tie or if more than one finishes #1 from the same country

Via Continental Championships, TOP 2 AA of quals can get a spot if they didn´t help to qualify their team at worlds, limited to 1 per country.

For countries who qualified a team the max of extra spots are limited to 2 of all this options

The spots from AA cup and Continetal are for the country, but the spot earned by Apparatus Cup is for the gymnast who earned
Jade decide in 2018 to try Apparatus World CUp, and right now she´s #1 at VT and FX, mathematically no one can beat her, so she secured a spot for HERSELF

The issue is if Jade should take the spot she earned and loses all her hopes to get and olympic gold, or give up her spot and try for team and usag only will send 5 gymnast instead of 6.
is it fair? yes
Is it selfish to go for the team? yes
is it her fault ? no

Imagine you want to go to X school and there are 2 scolarships, one of them is easier and less competitive (no one else tried) and the second one will 99% give you nobel prize but harder and everyone is trying it.
So you go for the 1st cause you aren´t ready to get the 2nd one

But then covid happened and got u and extra year to prepare yourself and try for the scholarship that 99% surely will get you a nobel prize (in Jade´s case an Olympic Gold) and you´re allowed to participate
DO you honestly drop your dream so some else could achiviment them?

She shouldn´t give up her dream for some else to achive it.
The apparatus via was open to others gymnast, and no one else wanted to take it, only Jade, which isn´t her fault. Usag should have sent at least one other gymnast

I´m not Jade and idk how does she feel about her gymnastics at this point.
If i was sure i could finish at least in top 3 even 4 at trials i would go for it even if it means i could lose all of my chances to go the Olympics , if not i would take my spot and go as specialist

It is usag´s fault for not making the rules clare since the beginning.
If they were fair they would have opted for AA cup and Continetals, and then decide at trials all of the 6 spots, allowing all gymnast to try for the 4 team spots and 2 specialist spots at the same time

If usag was smarter, they would have sent as many gymnast they could via Apparatus to secured more than 1 spot, so if someone decided at las minute to try for the team they wouldn´t lose any spot. And if some of them tied or ended top #1 just decide which one is more medal whorty

if usag were smarter and fairer, they would have sent 2 gymnast via Apparatus and let one to try for the team, or just give her the no-nom spot.
it was the d*mbest thing just to send just ONE gymnast for that route, they have the deep to send more than one and be #1

BUT the real gulty is FIG for making this st*upids rules to qualify.
Just go back to 5 person team, and for the countries who didn´t qualify a team let´s them get their places earned via worlds, continetlas and apparatus.

Jade hasn´t made a statement, so we really don´t know if she´s even traying for the team, and usag´s statement is one thing but behind doors they could just force her to take the spot... so we really don´t know anything

If i were Jade i would see how things go after us´s classic if i´m top 3 i would totally go for the team
