A birthday is a chance to recognise what somebody has done in their life, and be inspired by their example.

Today is both Her Majesty The Queen’s, and Ibu R. A. Kartini’s birthday - surely two of the greatest women in UK and Indonesian history 🇮🇩🇬🇧✨
Sadly in fresh grief, this year will likely not be a “happy” birthday for The Queen. But as the Queen herself once said - “Grief is the price we pay for love.”
The Queen holds high office with humility, good principles with clarity, prizes service and recognises the best in others, and has withstood challenges & change with wisdom & dignity... and all that consistently for almost 70 years as Queen. 🙇
Ibu Kartini championed women, youth and education - building schools, empowering women and youth, promoting literacy, and much more - at a time when none of that was easy 🌎📚🙇
Today we celebrate two extraordinary women, one British, one Indonesian - who have made their mark on the world. 🇬🇧🇮🇩

In that spirit, let’s show appreciation for all the women out there 🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️

We are sorry that our post earlier today has caused controversy. Our intention was simply to celebrate these two extraordinary women, who by coincidence share a birthday.
