I saw the tweet. I cringed.

But hear me out on this.

The plight of the SMM pales in comparison to the systemic racism rampant in this country.

Yes, this profession is grueling and toxic AF- but we chose it, and we can leave it.

Now imagine you can’t sign off this bird app.

And the replies aren’t just words on a keyboard you are paid to read. Imagine it’s mindset that’s infiltrated every societal system.

Remember how it feels when your voice isn’t heard in the room, if you were even invited. Or when your expertise is doubted, if it’s even consulted.

Then imagine that everyday, but not because of your job title.

Today is not the day to center the conversation on how it feels to be a SMM.

Have some perspective.
