Am about to watch my first ever Miyazaki movie. (Totoro)

Yes okay I have to say all the things you expect me to say, namely
• that was breathtakingly beautiful
• especially the colours
• I had a difficult moment when Mei first starts crying
• and also when thinking about it again now
• yes you were all correct about all this

and no, I have no adequate explanation for holding out on Ghibli films for this long, especially since I was well aware of how good they are

So: I will watch Kiki with my 7 year old daughter. That should be lovely.

goddammit Miyazaki (and Elle Fanning, and whoever directed her performance)
