So a couple things: I& #39;m still processing the verdict today but one thing I can& #39;t shake is how almost a year ago, in the midst of the pandemic, still new to #alaska and the city, I went out, curious about how my new community was processing George Floyd& #39;s murder.
Today, I find myself still curious, looking for answers as I& #39;m sure many of you are. If you care to share your thoughts/reaction/hopes with me again please give me a call and leave a message 907 550 8487. Let& #39;s process this together.
Secondly - there& #39;s an Anchorage school board meeting tonight. Members are supposed to be voting on two anti-racism and equity policies that were, in many ways, born of the protests against George Floyd& #39;s murder. More than 40 people are signed up to publicly testify.
It& #39;s going to be a long night, after a long day, - but I encourage you to tune in to the conversation at 6pm. Will add more to this thread as the night goes on.
