Reason no one wants to tank is not only because this game is full of people with social anxiety, but also because tanks are expected to know the entire dungeon, set the pace of the run, know all their cooldowns, eat hot chip and—you get my point.
It's *responsibility*. I've been yelled at for not pulling mobs in the style someone liked in a dungeon I've never been in before. I'm a tank who's been tanking since 3.0, and I still get nervous some times. Tanks will always be at a premium. Not to mention that some of you?
Are just mean. If a tank is struggling with their cooldowns/doesn't know their cooldowns, do you really think a healer/DPS pulling more mobs for them is going to help them? Trial by fire doesn't really work here, all it gets you is a wipe, then people either getting tilted the
rest of the run, or leaving immediately. It's alright if a run goes a bit slow because the tank is pulling slowly. You want a super fast duty? Run them with your friends. It'll save you the headache.
If you're here to tell people anxiety—yes, even about video games—is 'all in their heads', I have wonderful news on where anxiety disorders reside 😊
