They also started rumors that the Southern Boys were actually from Wisconsin and would say stuff like, "I smell cheese!" any time they came to the ring for a match.

Anyway, eventually, the Birds were found scheming on tape during this time and admitting they weren't really a successful rock band. They freaked out and showed up the next week as "Charles" and "Lido", supposed Freebirds impersonators hired by Lance Russell to pretend to be them

So Hayes and Garvin wore terrible wigs and tried to speak with foreign accents, arguing that they were actors hired to pretend to be the Freebirds.

Eventually, the Freebirds would go "on tour" and be absent from hosting the syndicated Pro for a week, leaving Lance Russell to host the show with "Charles" and "Lido".

One of my favorite wacky and mostly forgotten things ever.
