So let's talk about eating the rich shall we?

The term "Eat the Rich" is largely attributed to the French revolutionary philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau. (1/6)
The saying was first uttered however by Pierre Gaspard Chaumette, President of the Paris Commune, on October 14th 1793 when he declared:

"Rousseau, who was also one of the people, said: When the people shall have no more to eat, they will eat the rich!" (2/6)
Pierre's speech was about amount of inequality in France that caused the Revolution and the desperation the masses would resort to in order to survive if the vast amount of resources were hoarded by the few wealthy people that encompassed the clergy and aristocracy.

"Eat the Rich" was not meant to be used as a threat to people different from you but I see so many leftists using the phrase as such. Youre really missing the historical context when you do that and it's really cringe https://twitter.com/RileyGRoshong/status/1384233788863967234?s=19

The people using "Eat the Rich" as a call to action to enact violence are not using it as a warning but as a clear threat to others, all in an effort to be edgy online or to secure brownie points with other edgy leftists for clout.

How do you expect to win over people by being this malicious? How do you expect a socialist movement to grow when you promote this level of toxicity? Who are you intending to associate with?
