The result of this test (optical density, OD) is usually 0.5-2.0 for HIT. With VITT it seems to be >3.0!!
. @connors_md outlines the key steps in diagnosis. Vaccine exposure (AZ or JJ) in 5-24 day window is key! Get CBC and imaging test along with PF4 ELISA test. Don’t wait for ELISA result to start treatment!
