A thread

1) So Im changing my name.. its actually happening! This is something my Partner and I have been thinking on over the past 3 or 4 years. We have put a lot of thought into it and both have our own reasons for wanting to create our own surname.

2)This was accelerated & given a deadline by the Birth of our daughter Azaria

Over years we& #39;ve explored language, words & phrases to find words we felt connected to & resonated with us there were two words we were drawn to that we used to create the first part of our Surname

3)The word ‘Zoetic& #39;
Which means Pertaining to life/Living/Vital.

The word “Orenda”
Used to describe the mystical force present in all people that empowers them to affect the world and to effect changes in their own lives.

4)The second part of our name comes out of the reconnection with my dad, as some people know the first time we ever met was May 2019. Even though he had come to watch a show I directed in April 2019 unknown to either of us at the time! That’s another story…

5)We have had conversations about ancestry and our ancestry investigations can only go so far…My dad was able to find relatives on his mothers side that seemed to be carrying their original name. We have taken that name as the second part of our Surname.

6)Its been a journey lots of self reflecting and learning. Opened my eyes to the bureaucracy, legalities and power of a name. And the power we give to documents that state our name.

Also will be hard to let go of my old nickname JC!
