Thread: The core problem with the marriage of modernity & capitalism today is how it has become unbelievably impersonal & dehumanizing.

We can see this on many fronts. Packaged "foods" that are devoid of nutrition. In media, an endless new cycle to drive you mad not keep you informed. Regarding fandoms...

If the owners of superheroes, space sagas, & football clubs honored the humanity & history behind such things vs milking people for money they would have their respect returned with loyalty and money. That's how healthy relationships thrive.

Moreover, they could feel good about being custodians of the things that enrich peoples lives and bring them together.

It should be no surprise that we reap what we sow.

As far as I can tell, I hope this doesn't come off as trite, but it seems to me that it's up to everyone to MAKE EVERY EFFORT, in an age where everything is monetized and some tech device with "likes" as currency between us, ...

...to overcome these barriers to higher levels of human interaction and really connect with respect and yes, love.

Invoking BvS yet again, we need to really listen to see each other as human beings.

There will still be villains, but let us not make villains & certainly not commodities of us all.
