Is it time for a thread of my favorite wildly underappreciated (& mostly diverse) romance novels, novellas, and short stories?

I think yes. 👍
Slow Moves by Elliott Junkyard. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/44167881-slow-moves

Sweet little m/m contemporary romance novella about a successful closeted musician beginning a relationship with a poet who is out. Trans rep, bi rep, queer author. Exactly the right size of story for novella length.
Can't Lose by Rae Birch.
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/43661698-can-t-lose

I think this novella is in erotica jail on Amazon, because it doesn't come up when I search, but it's there. Age gap, she's an older nerdy pop culture professor and he's the hot young man she picks up at the movies. Novella.
Cup of Tea by M. Arbon
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/39720464-cup-of-tea

Charming & sexy M/M short story about an afternoon in the life of a museum dude who arrives at a private home to evaluate a collection of historical photographs with some... very interesting subject matter.
Liberator by Shelley B. McPherson
https://goodreads.com/book/show/30356284-liberator

A time travel romance about a bi Jewish grad student from the 1980s who is thrown back to 1941. Queer author.

Cliffhanger, but book 2 does exist & it's lovely, will eventually be out! Disclosure: author is a friend.
The Ninepenny Element by K.L. Noone
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/51031084-the-ninepenny-element

Lovely paranormal novella, one of my fave f/f romances. Verity Friday (leather jacket & boots, tattoos, witch) runs into Lia (corporate polish, lawyer) outside a bookshop. Throw in a curse and some righteous justice...
Alternate Endings by K. Sadeé
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/35832635-alternate-endings

Deeply introspective Black romance between two successful creatives, an entertainment superstar (her) and a filmmaker (him). Starts with the breakup of their affair, book is about them finding their way back to each other.
Farm of Fancy by Julianna Thorn
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/42114721-farm-of-fancy

Rural M/M romance between a curmudgeonly cancer survivor and a widowed large animal vet. Liked seeing the stages of healing and acceptance that Gabe and David must go through, together and apart, to find HEA. Queer author.
Jilted by Lilah Suzanne
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/38722023-jilted

Carter is a bisexual architect. Link is a nonbinary artist. They meet after Carter’s fiance leaves him to reconnect with an ex
who was supposed to be marrying Link, who just got left at the altar. !!!
The Threefold Tie by Aster Glenn Gray
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/52921168-the-threefold-tie

Quiet, interesting historical polyam romance novella set in NY just after the Civil War. Jack served in the U.S. army with Everett and they became lovers. After, though, Everett married his sweetheart Sophie...
Sweet by Alysia Constantine
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/27854850-sweet

Gorgeously written M/M love story between widowed bakery owner Jules Burns and trapped-in-a-cube accountant Teddy Flores, who unexpectedly ends up in the bakery one rainy morning. Fairy-tale feel. Queer author.
Conning Colin by Brad Vance & Elsa Winters
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/35287133-conning-colin

Divorced NYC-based voice actor Colin hires high-end escort Hamilton (the alter ego of aspiring screenwriter Henry Davis) for a combination of sex & confidence coaching in being a gay man.
The Art of Three by Erin McRae and Racheline Maltese
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/33792377-the-art-of-three

"Two men. One woman. No love triangles. Who says you only get one happily ever after?" If you've never read a polyam romance, this is a great one to start with.
Division Bells by Iona Datt Sharma
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/55599354-division-bells

Gorgeous contemporary M/M romance set in the UK, by one of my auto-buy authors, though previously I'd only read FSF by them. After this, I'm hoping they write more romance, any subgenre welcome!
Okay that is 23 (I think?) of my fave romances of various lengths that have under 200 ratings on Goodreads.

It came out heavy on the shorter works, I think because those don't get as much attention?

Anyway, I hope this thread brings you something new & lovely to read. 💌
