1. When the @T4CYP Early Help and Enhanced Support work stream embarked on our co-production journey to develop the #Nyth #Nest Framework we borrowed metaphors to open discussions about how to achieve a culture shift in how we understand and support children's mental health.
2. We used this one to explain that we needed a wider lens than specialists in clinics if we were to address mental health issues in our society, and the many potential causes. Why might the Koala be distressed? and What do they need in their life to make a difference?
3. We used this one to explain that often the default assumption about mental health is that it is something going on in your head that an expert can 'fix'. But this risks missing the big picture - the relationships, experiences & contexts that can help explain & also support us.
4. And we used this one to show how services & agencies can focus in on their own part of a child or young person's life, losing sight of the whole person and their wider context. This is so important when it comes to mental health & well-being as it impacts on everything.
5. We had conversations in many forums. @ChildreninWales National Youth Stakeholder Group and @PCamhs Parents Voices in Wales were key, along with front-line professionals across all agencies. Here's a vlog of how we started it off in lockdown.
6. We are excited to launch the #NYTH #NEST framework at the end of May, ready for implementation by Regional Partnership Boards over the next year and beyond. Delighted that @RaqueldeRowl who chairs our #partnership work stream is joining the team from May for this next phase
