huge TW: SA and Rape
Six men on tiktok started the idea that April 24th is “National SA day” and that it would be “legal” to r*** anyone that day. It’s unclear as to if this is some sick joke or not, but here’s some tips for self defence from a black belt in taekwondo:
Six men on tiktok started the idea that April 24th is “National SA day” and that it would be “legal” to r*** anyone that day. It’s unclear as to if this is some sick joke or not, but here’s some tips for self defence from a black belt in taekwondo:
always yell loudly with each hit, it scientifically builds your confidence, makes you more threatening, and helps others hear while you fight.
use your elbows, they’re extremely strong and they are there for a reason
keep your thumb outside of your fist when you punch, this reduces chances of injury or broken bones
use your entire body for any kind of hit, no matter if it’s a punch, elbow, kick, kneeing, whatever. put all your weight into that one hit.
if they have grabbed you or pinned you down, always distract them first(before trying to escape) by either stepping on their foot(HARD) or palming their face as hard as you can.
two thumbs to the eyes can blind them
if you grab around the back of their neck right by the bottom of the skull, you can easily take control, pinch hard and throw them to the ground using leverage
there’s always a way to use their body weight against them, even if you’re shorter and smaller
hitting the back of their knees in the right spot will instantly make them buckle
if you get the advantage, grab their wrist and lock the outside of their elbow against your bent knee
the easiest way to trip someone is by putting your right leg behind their left(or vice versa) and pushing on their chest(holding their shirt collar works well to grip)
never take your eyes off of them and never let them go, even if they’re half blind and their arm is broken
any other tips are welcome and i will try to add them on to here if i see them, remember that if something happens to you, it is never your fault and you are not to blame
and here’s a reminder to people with anxiety or anxious thoughts about this situation: you are safe and there is a very low chance of people actually acting on this specific “trend.” i posted this mainly for awareness and to get the word out ab self defence.
