I'm so happy that more people will be getting vaccinated in the coming days - that's great news!
BUT...
Remember, you're not immediately (or completely) immune to Covid.
Your risk of severe illness is much lower, but it takes a couple of weeks for your immune system to learn how to protect you from Covid...
In the meantime (and really, until we have upwards of 70% of Canadians immune) you need to keep the virus from spreading.
That means:
Wear a well-fitting mask đŸ˜·đŸ˜·đŸ˜·
Especially when in crowded places (even outdoors)...
Staying a couple of meters away is helpful, too, as you know...
But limiting the time that you share air with people not in your household / bubble / cohort is really important
Especially with the more contagious variants.
Support local businesses & restaurants by using curbside pick-up and delivery - that's safer than meandering up and down every aisle of the store
Because in the "race between variants and vaccines" the variants are winning.
They got a fast start, but we can catch up.
If we all work together
When enough of us are protected, we can finally bid restrictions goodbye.
Let's DO this.
