Agoraphobia is the phobia of being in situations in which there is no control or no escape (although it's more complex than that).

Pop culture has lied to you.
As someone who spent 7 years in her house, I can assure you, I didn't spend 7 years ONLY in my house.
Of the 7 years I spent in my house, a majority was spent in my house because... Where else am I going to have the most control?
