Also on the subject of PSG, they invested all their eggs in the UEFA basket. Just spend a few minutes reading about all the links between PSG - Qatar - UEFA. A Qatar business hiring Platini's son just before the WC voting. The leaked emails showing Infantino trying to help PSG
avoid harsh penalties. Bein (owned by PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi) owning the rights to UCL.

Plus they already effectively have a monopoly of French football and with FFP being killed can now increase their efforts on monopolising the UCL too.

I would have been SHOCKED
if they were involved. And not because the Qatar owned club are some bastions of righteousness and are trying to save football. No, because they are trying to own football and a toothless UEFA is their best bet to do so.

Don't be naive!
And just to add - once again - I hate the idea of a super league and always have. But I also believe football is utterly corrupt from the top down and that as a sport it needs to get out from that hegemony. There needs to be a non-FIFA/UEFA competition.

There can't be a single
person today moaning about the 'death of football' today that hasn't already stated prior to this that it is already dead. The soul is gone. It disgusts them. The WC vote was rigged. The FBI investigations into UEFA show corruption head to toe. The FFP investigations were a farce
You can't both recognise the UEFA and FIFA are the problem and also back their absolute monopoly of all football.

Because the question is - how do you think that monopoly could be broken. And the honest answer is this. The biggest clubs binning them off is the only way. Because
they are the only ones who have the power to do so and UEFA are utterly reliant on them too.

I don't know how this turns out. But the problem is far more nuanced than everyone is making out. There are a LOT of vested interests being protected here under the guise of
'saving football'.
As someone else highlighted - do people think Qatar would jeapardise their World Cup by having PSG join the super league?

A world cup they had to bribe their wa to getting?
(according to the guilty pleas of various FIFA and UEFA officials such as Chuck Blazer)

Infantino now has this power. You think he gives that up? FIFA enjoy an absolute monopoly. The power to write laws in host countries. To fly into any country unannounced and meet their head of state.
Take some time and read about monopolies and how they ALWAYS respond when anybody tries to gain even the tiniest foothold in their market. How they will buy patents for new tech just to bury it - even tech that would change the world for the better.
FIFA & UEFA have an absolute monopoly on football. That is never a good thing. Corruption isn't even in doubt, it is on record. There are dozens of guilty pleas from past employees confirming they take bribes and rig things behind the scenes. But nothing changed.

With the handful of people that appear with me on the belief that the SL is utterly shit, but FIFA is a fucking nightmare we need to escape from... where do you go from there?

You think we can kill this for FIFA/UEFA, then go back to that monopoly with a dictatorship-like rule
over all football and say 'while we are here, there are things that need to change'.

Nah, find me a monopoly that willingly cedes power. It just won't happen. We got rid of Blatter and Platini and others just as bad fill the void.
I believe the SL would be more open to listening. I know that because their statement literally said all they want is to sit down and talk. And also because as a new brand they are going to need us to buy into what they are doing.

FIFA can take bribes, rig world cup votes and
give it to Russia and Qatar and still, STILL, we do fucking nothing. 6500 slaves die building stadiums for that World Cup and STILL we will watch it.

So yeah, not really seeing the big event that will make the sociopaths at FIFA stop and think 'wait, this is wrong'.
If we kill this, there is no fucking way anybody tries to do anything like this for a long time. And that is very much a bad thing.

FIFA have been flying football into the ground for decades and that with them with the knowledge that the top clubs were planning to break away.
This was them at their best. Trying to keep those clubs onside. To keep public opinion on their side.

So if we kill this, football really is dead IMO.

I think we should try to make the SL listen to us and build a product that is best for the fans and with scope to grow and
include all the things we want. Promotion, relegation, all that shit. Just as how the European Cup was born as an invitation-only competition to being what it is today. Or how the EPL started out with 'the big 5' on board and built from there. We have no idea on the long term
plans of the SL are. TBH, we have no real idea of any of their plans as nothing has really been made public yet. Even Klopp said he had no idea so how fucking arrogant are we to think we know all the answers and can fill in the blanks with absolutes.
We need football to be about the fans. It is moving away from that right now and that is the intention of FIFA & UEFA.

I don't know how we get it back. But I know it isn't siding with Infantino etc.
