Instead of “let us know what we can do” in emails addressing the ongoing injustices & murders, educators, managers, & ppl in power need to model & be more explicit about options & offerings (ie. “I’m giving everyone an extension” or “A day off this week is available”).

Don’t assume people know what an email like that means. Some folks may feel nervous or scared to openly ask for what they need & folks w/ decision power should make explicit offers so it’s clear & less burdensome.

Also, many people of minoritized populations won’t feel comfortable reaching out or speaking up in PWIs, & so it makes such a difference to clearly recognize & address what is happening & the effects it may be having (plus, no two people are the same so be open to varying needs.)

Also if you haven’t addressed it all, shame on you.
