I don’t even know how I’m supposed to explain how much this show means to me, so bear with me while I’ll go through this. 👇🏻

When I started watching #SEALTeam when it first premiered in 2017, I didn’t know a lot about the military, maybe even less so about the US Navy. I merely followed DB from Bones, thinking “well if the show’s nice, I might stick around”. And boy oh boy, did I stick around.
I think what gets me the most when I think about #SEALTeam is the fact that it not only focuses on the military aspect of the show (which I realize is quite a challenge cause it’s so easy to get lost in the military side of it all).
It focuses on the characters and how they deal with being soldiers, how it strains everything within their private lives, and what exactly is the price these guys have to pay for. Yes, of course it’s a military show. But it’s also SO MUCH MORE THAN JUST THAT.
It’s about Jason Hayes’ journey, navigating through the ups and downs of losing everything at home, while also having to navigate the changes his own beloved job goes through. It’s about him losing and finding himself again constantly.
It’s about Ray Perry, wanting to serve and climb up the ladder while preserving his relationships with his brothers and his family. Ray taught me so much over the past 4 seasons, and I know he did for a whole lot of people other than just little old me.
Sonny Quinn might be one of the most complex character I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. He’s presented as some sort of a daredevil that’s somehow afraid of a lot of things, but when you scratch the surface he’s a complicated character looking for solace into a job he loves.
I could write for hours about Sonny Quinn but I’m gonna have to stop there for tonight or I might tear up. My point is Sonny is a character that’s so well-crafted that we’ve been witnessing his growth for 4 seasons straight and I love him very much.
#SEALTeam is also about Clay Spenser, the young buck joining Bravo Team during season 1 that’s really a parallel to our very own Jason Hayes minus the 20 years of trauma that Jason still has to shoulder.
Clay is fierce and strong and frank. He’s the audience’s in into the team, and it’s been a joy watching him navigate the stream, losing himself into his pride and ambition at times, but always getting back to where he’s supposed to be.
Because at the end of the day, Clay’s real strength is his heart.

And when it comes down to it, this is really what #SEALTeam is about. Heart. Brotherhood. Family.
They’re not afraid to touch down on subjects that can be controversial as well (ie: Swanny’s entire storyline focused not only on how veterans are treated but also on the lack of care and treatment when it comes to TBI)
This is also a show that, despite not even being broadcasted in my country since 2018, has managed to birth a solid fanbase that spends hours on various social media platforms talking about the show, creating content, dissecting scenes and meta storylines.
I personally have spent countless amount of time crafting custom Funko Pop figurines of the guys, discussing characters storylines on discord with a group of fan, creating gifs and creative content on Tumblr, or writing fan fiction and meta articles on Ao3 and Tumblr.
This is a show that, within their 4 seasons of existence, has managed to create a family. This cast and crew interact with us on a weekly basis in a way that perhaps no other shows currently does.
These stories and characters deserve to keep going. We deserve a season 5, and quite frankly @CBSTVStudios, you’d be a fool not to take all that into account!
Linking this here, since I talk about it above; I did this entire set of custom vinyl figurine for another fan of the show a little over a year ago. https://twitter.com/SEALTeamFrance/status/1221946007405178880
