Harphool Jaat :-
Attacked Slaughterhouses, Released 1000s of Cows during British Rule.
-Born in Julani, Jind, Haryana in 1892.
-Joined British Army and participated in WW1, but left noticing increased British oppression of natives in motherland
-Once saved children of a British Colonel
-Rewarded a folding gun at retirement
-When he returned home, his mother was already dead
-He was not able to hear grief and went to forest
-There he met a Sadhu who also reared cows
-He consoled him and explained how Cow is a mother too
-Ever Since, he considered Cow as mother and took care of them.
Slaughter houses were a common sight then
British allowed Muslim to built slaughterhouse all across country
Harphool started attacking and killing the buthcher
He released cows from these sites and saved them from being smuggled.H
-His biggest attack of a butcher house was on 23 July 1930 st village Tohana
-Here the butcher didn't stop their activities despite opposition from local Hindus
-The Hindus then sought the help of Harphool
-He entered the slaughterhouse disguised as a woman
-He shot dead several butchers and also freed all the cows trapped
- This brave act earned him the title of "Sawa Sher" (having strength and aura of 100 Lions)

-As he continued with his gauraksha activities, the British unable to catch him announced a reward on him
- A traitor from Pancheri informed the British about his whereabouts.
-He was arrested in night while sleep nd lodged in Firozpur jail
-He was hanged to death on 27 July 1930
