It’s up to the vanguard to end Black genocide.
We choose vanguardism because the conditions under which we’ve organized for the past 6 years demand that a group of committed Black revolutionaries create a political climate in which poor & wc Black people can fight for their own liberation.
Poor & working class Black people are overburdened by the realities of oppression. They are not, under normal circumstances, in positions to study extensively, train relentlessly, or organize tirelessly in preparation for war.
The duty of the vanguard is to do this *first*, leveraging that study, training, and organizing to create avenues for more substantial sustenance for Black people who require more support than vanguard members to engage revolution.
Most poor & working class Black people are working to help their families survive. They cannot, under normal circumstances, physically attack the systems of oppression that they believe they must rely on to survive.
The duty of the vanguard is to attack these systems for the masses, severing the relationship between the Black poor and institutions of harm and simultaneously offering healthy and liberating alternatives to that toxic dynamic.
Most poor & working class Black people are fighting just to keep roofs over their heads and food in their bellies. They do not, under normal circumstances, have time and energy to grow food sovereignty, build autonomous housing, or create containers for equitable education.
The duty of the vanguard is to build foundations for these institutions *ahead* of the masses’ arrival to the communities in which we’re asking them to invest.
It’s up to the vanguard to create containers for healing, for safety, and for growth but not to control them.
Ultimately, the masses will grow these new communities through direct democracy and cooperative effort. Ultimately, these are the societies that will make the vanguard obsolete and make mass mobilization and global uprisings possible.
So, if in the face of Black genocide, you find yourself living with surplus capacity...
If you know that free housing, free food, and at least $600/month in basic income would be enough to enhance your ability to show up for Black lives, then it's your responsibility to step up for those who currently can’t.
