This movie is called "Major Grom: the Plague Doctor" and it& #39;s based on the comic book series of the same name by the Russian publisher Bubble Comics. The movie is set in alternative Saint-Petersburg and starts with detective plotline in which the main hero - police officer Igor Grom - investigates murders of people, who corrupted life in the city. All murders are caused by a person in a crow mask - the Plague Doctor.
At first Igor works alone, but during the course of movie he teams up with journalist Julia Pchelkina and police trainee Dima Dubin. In his investigation he also encounters with Sergey Razumovsky -philanthropistthe, creator of the social media site "Vmeste" ("Together").
Why I love this movie? Despite straightforward story with interesting plot twists and reimagining of some comics characters, it has good passing, surprisingly cool cast of actors, and great (for a small budget) visuals. Is it strange to say, that despite trying to be like Marvel and DC this movie still keeps his own authentic: locations, characters, music, jokes? It& #39;s important to note: the creators of original comics were directly involved in adaptation it on screen,including script and casting
This movie has it& #39;s own flaws: some people say it depicts real life politics and radicalize liberals, while making "good guys" from cops,some see it in completly opposite way. Some may say it unfaithful adaptation and others, that the main antagonist is more developed than a hero
I was waiting for this movie low-key since 2019, when they announced the original cast at Comic-Con and I was on the hook without even reading original comic.
What I got in the end? Movie, that makes me want to go to the cinema for the fourth time in a row.

The other thing that gives me serotonin is fandom and the fact that creators of the comics\movie are engage with fans. They often share additional info about the movie: promo photos, backstage materials. I hope they will keep their promise and release 3h cut version of the movie

The readhed is Sergey Razumovsky- the creator of the social media site "Vmeste", the other one is Oleg Volkov- chief of cecurity and his personal bodyguard. They grew up together in orphanage, for Sergey Oleg is the only friend and support in everything (literally in everything)
Their relationships in the movie are... complicated to say at least. But in the comic series they are without doubt pretty angsty and tragic.

To sum up this thread, Major Grom: The Plague Doctor is quite good comics-based movie and I really, really hope it will get international release in other countries and will be picked up by some streaming platform
