three north carolina senators, RALPH HISE, WARREN DANIEL, and NORMAN SANDERSON, suggested bill 514 the “youth health protection act”. if passed, it will criminslize trans youth gender-affirming healthcare (hormones, procedures, and other treatments) and require adults who+
suspect or are aware of a child’s symptoms of gender dysphoria /signs of gender nonconformity to alert the youth's parents, even if it was revealed in a confidential setting - otherwise known as "outing". it would even allow parents to deny mental care services for youth w/ +
gender dysphoria. this bill is deadly and cannot be allowed to pass. the bill in arkansas paved the way for this bill, and these will all lead to a grander stripping of trans rights. +
as a population, we constantly suffer from the bystander effect. we believe that its okay if WE dont speak out, if WE dont act, if WE dont protest, if WE dont petition, if WE don't fundraise because someone else with MORE resources or audience or experience will. +
but because everyone feels that way, nobody is ever acting. its a cycle and it keeps us silent. silence is violence. below this tweet ive linked petitions, sources and other ways you can help. +
