Validator commissions - 0% is not good long term - Ask your validator what their plans are for covering costs and making a profit $LUNA $UST $MIR $ANC 🧵 below
Commissions are the only way validators can earn. So what happens if everyone always chooses the 0% validators ?
This will drive out the high quality validators and the network will be left with weaker nodes and drive Centralization of voting power.
Are you confident a node that charges 0% will be investing in infrastructure to avoid slashing and downtime ?
When you pay 5%, it means that for every 1 Luna you claim, you will get .95 and the validator .05 $LUNA
It is a good investment to choose high quality validators with reasonable commissions ! @martecloud @SmartStake
If you aren’t paying commission, you should be asking yourself - “Why is this free?” The only good answer is the node is new and needs to develop a relationship with the community.
0% commissions are a race to the bottom in terms of network quality because it encourages the cheapest infrastructure possible
Support quality and ask your validator to charge commissions. You get what you pay for.
