lesophobic things that shouldn’t be normalized, a thread;
pls rt to spread awareness !!

always feel free to add on if i missed anything!
1. calling men lesbians or lesbian protecters. lesbianism excludes all men & isn’t a term to use for jokes involving men. it’s even more bothersome how this is so common within the entire community itself
2. using the world “lesbo” or the d slur. lesbo isn’t a slur but is derogatory & non-lesbians shouldn’t use it. the d slur is only for black lesbians. just stop using these. that also goes for any wlw ppl, unless your specifically a lesbian you can’t use these
3. “hey mamas” or any similar jokes. if your not a lesbian stop making these sort of stereotypical jokes.
4. using “if lesbians can control themselves” whenever predatory men are brought up. stop comparing us to them.
5. not including trans lesbians.
6. shaming lesbians for finding certain men or fictional characters attractive. we can still appreciate the appearance of a man without being attracted to him
7. bi/pan lesbians.
8. stop including non-lesbians in lesbian spaces.
9. stop putting dirty connotations around the word “lesbian”
10. stop creating the idea that lesbians only do things to please men.
11. the “gold star lesbian” stuff. it’s so weird ?? a lesbian isn’t any less of a lesbian just because they have been with a man before, knock it off
12. straight girls flirting with lesbians just to seek some form of validation
13. whenever someone comes out to you and immediately thinking they are attracted to you
14. invalidating acro/ace lesbians
15. the toothpaste flag.
16. using slurs immediately when you become a lesbian. not necessarily too big of an issue but it’s just strange- especially when you’ve never had those terms against you
17. saying the lesbian flag is the “wlw flag” or using lesbian as a umbrella term
18. asking “who’s the man in the relationship” or “who wears the pants”, etc.
that’s it! again feel free to add on if i missed anything
