like did they actually just leave out the fact that demons devolve if they don’t eat or did she not remember? pls https://twitter.com/yuug0_o/status/1382114473113124867
bc why else would mujika’s blood be important and how else would taking down the demon nobility so that her blood could be distributed be an allegory for overthrowing capitalism??
and talking about it with my friend she seemed really disappointed with the way that the anime changed from season one and that’s valid but also the manga added a whole new layer with the way demon society is set up that’s beyond ‘demons are evil monsters’
like we have demons obviously oppressing humans through the farms, we have humans complicit in upholding that system because it ensures their survival, and then we have humans like norman, who want to basically commit genocide on all the demons because of the actions of very few
+ most interestingly, we have the group of elite demons who use their power to control the economy and deprive other demons of food and resources so that they can maintain power and continue the cycle of oppression further hmmm
lmk if this is a trash take, but continuing on, when the queen and the nobility is overthrown all of the demons are able to benefit from drinking mujika’s blood and we see more equality among them because they don’t have the disparity of more advanced/more debilitated demons
also like if i’m remembering right, mujika was extremely close to spreading her power amongst the demons and then they were almost driven to extinction specifically because the noble demons wanted to maintain power
anyways idk if anyone will read this thread but i just started writing because tpn makes brain go brrr but in conclusion tpn manga says fuck capitalism and i hate the anime
