My freshman year someone said during ACE time a kid had brought a gun on the bus that morning. Luckily someone called the police and they intercepted the bus before it got to school.

I had completely blocked this from my memory because it's so normalized and nothing else happened that day, so it wasn't a big deal. In fact, I paused writing this tweet bc I thought "oh am I making this up," no im not. I found several articles from the incident.

This thread isn't made to be critical of East or 259. The situation was handled well. I just think its crazy that it's so normalized. I remember thinking that day "it was bound to happen" "I'm not surprised"
