WHY IS HE SO STOKED ABOUT THIS MILLIPEDE? Well, one species was found at Beech Fork State Park near Huntington, WV and is named (wait for it) "Nannaria mcelroyorum"
"... named for Clint, Justin, Travis, and Griffin McElroy ... who provided endless hours of emotional support to JCM and DAH during field collections through their podcasts, ‘The Adventure Zone’ and ‘My Brother, My Brother, and Me’."
Thank you to Jason and Derek for this incredible honor. To everyone else: If a WV millipede tries to sell you underwear and mattresses, don't run in terror. It's probably just a McElroy.
