So I thought I must be going crazy on the earlier reported #BSC outage. Because when I scan through Reddit, Telegram and Twitter, there doesn't seem to be anyone really complaining about BSC not working for them.

But,

I've spun up more instances of my monitoring tools, different geos, different providers, just to be sure.

And all the nodes that Binance lists on the RPC page ( https://docs.binance.org/smart-chain/developer/rpc.html) are sputtering on and off, or failing to respond.

They'll work for like a minute or two, and sometimes you'll get 10 minutes of no issues, but then all of a sudden they'll drop or fail on 80% of calls and take a long time on the next set.
4/8

Even connecting manually, it will time out or fail to return blocknumbers or chainIDs.

What's interesting though is that the $BNB price falls every time it stutters and then comes roaring back the moment the RPCs are working again, and I mean the exact moment. So clearly I'm not the only one noticing.

But I can't figure out how this chain, that has so much volume seems to have no one complaining about this?

There so few reports. The chats for Binance and Pancakeswap are quiet & BSC tweets are just about the price. Is BSC just 90% professional arb players for volume?

When xDAI, a much smaller chain has laggy nodes, you can find people complaining about it.

So something weird is happening with BSC, even its just regionally or with specific calls or something.

This isn't to say anything positive or negative about BSC. But something is going on with the infrastructure that

A) Any EVM chain can learn from
B) Is impacting trading both up and down and so is good for market makers to be aware of.
There it is.

After an afternoon of intermittent outages, its the fourth hour that I finally see someone in any chat, complain about the connection error.

So I'm not crazy, but that suggests Pancakeswap has either very low usage during US afternoon hours, or just low usage.
