not to discount the damage that mainstream black trauma porn does, we should absolutely get more of what we deserve on bigger screens, but a pretty solid way to make that happen is to fund, publish, uplift, and support the stories already being made in the indie scene
im lookin at validate and pritty and the black mage and im excited for mia's new comic and all the incredible black artists im surrounded by working on their projects + im about to reread de novo and im having a MOMENT. theres so so much good out there for people to find
this applies 2 all forms of rep of course like!! there are artists of marginalized communities of all sorts making what you're looking for without the restrictions of corporatization that mainstream tends to be bound 2, it is so worth the effort to seek them out and support them!
