0xLabs recently sponsored an AMA with members of the 0xDAO. A few questions got me thinking: Why the heck do I care so much about @0xProject that I wanted to be a Bootstrap Delegate. And why 0x in the first place? I mean, really…why? A thread.

1/ As both crypto and tradfi native, much of what I read has been cringe-worthy. It won't “ replace Tradfi,” nor is crypto a “scam.” We’re headed towards a hybrid world where complexity is abstracted away and subsumed all business models. Did you see what @Visa did? That.

2/ This is why the 0x whitepaper made so much sense to me from the getgo. @willwarren89 and @abandeali1 laid out a vision for a protocol that would facilitate low-friction, peer-to-peer exchange of tokens. I too believe believe that eventually the world will be tokenized

3/ My tradfi experience tells me that the world of decentralized exchanges is still much too small, but as the space grows and there’s money to be made, market makers at all levels will search for the best price, period, and the 0x Protocol will be in the pole position

4/ That’s why I invested in 2017…but why did I stay? Two words. People, protocol, and price.

5/ People: 0xLabs team is best-in-class, and the team members are a steady hand in the tornado of crypto. The team is the prime reason they were able to raise a recent $15M round from: @PanteraCapital , @jumpcapital, @NimaCapital, @coinbaseventures, @blockchain @Defialliance

6/ Protocol: @0xProject consistently offers the lowest prices, and with the v4 it has taken gas prices down even lower. 0xLabs has also built an amazing proprietary product: the DEX aggregator @matchaxyz . It’s now cheaper to go through Matcha than direct to @Uniswap. Amazing.

7/ Think about that for a second. It’s cheaper to go through @matchaxyz than directly to the source. That’s incredible. And, unlike others, the quote you see is what you get - they don’t pocket positive slippage. Again, this gets back to the team ethos of “doing the right thing.”

8/ Price: As an investor, I’m not ashamed to admit I like when price goes up. But, as a 0xDAO Delegate, our treasury is directly tied to $ZRX price, so price is critical for a health treasury. What will $ZRX be valued? I have no idea, but here’s one bull case…

9/ If you believe that $BTC will one day be worth $8T (I do), and Ethereum will also be worth $5-8T (I do), and the best cross-chain, middleware protocols will gain so much adoption they’ll be worth $100-300B (I do), and @0xProject is one of these (I do), well…there you go.

10/ And why will I stay? This time around many projects have great people, a solid product, and nice price potential, but there’s two things I’m insanely excited about: the expansion of @0xProject across chains and L2 protocols, and the 0xDAO https://blog.0xproject.com/0x-protocol-is-now-live-on-binance-smart-chain-d9329fc974ad

11/ The community has 2M ZRX (~$4M+) to deploy at our discretion If used wisely, we should be able to grow @0xProject while still growing the treasury over time.

12/ I’m fully aware this may be an opportunity of a lifetime, and I’m ready to play long-term games with long-term people. I have no idea how this will play out, but I have absolute conviction that the @0xProtocol will be front and center - and I want to be a part of it
