A Welsh Marxist movement is promoting a man who’s known to have predatory behaviour.

This performance enables and platforms misogyny.

Just because you’re a 'leftist' individual or organisation, it does not mean you’re exempt from misogynist actions.

A lot of Marxists hide behind theoretical language; using academic lexicon to disguise their bigotry. In an attempt to make said peoples listen, here is my take on class reductionism.

Class reductionists are making activism unbearable for so many people.

The prioritisation of capitalism above any other issue is a massive issue that needs addressing.

Misogyny, like ableism, racism and cishet-ism, is intertwined with capitalism
BUT
it is not an excuse to concentrate on only capitalism.

Assuming socialism will dissolve the existence of misogyny is painfully ignorant. Misogyny will continue to manifest in our society if we don’t actively condemn it and *actually* follow through on those objections.

Akin to wanting Welsh independence but choosing to mirror Westminster - what’s the point of wanting a communism that oppresses half the population?

When women and non-men talk about misogyny, we talk about it from a materialist pov. We question its roots and variants, its subtlety and perpetrators.

Patriarchy is coercive. It affects us all.

I’m so sick of being told I talk too much about any topic that doesn’t focus solely on white working men.

I mentioned in a panel how misogyny can manifest in so many ways. It’s come to my attention that I need to list those explicitly:

-Sharing and rating strangers’ dating profiles

-Weaponising their mental health issues

-General Marxist machismo bullshit

-Mocking ‘feminine’ attributes

-Stating that they were ‘drunk’ or ‘didn’t mean it.’

-Using prefixes such as ‘white’ or ‘liberal’ in front of their misogynistic comment in an attempt to reason their bigotry

Most importantly - just because some leftist men share similar politics to you, it does not mean that they’re safe to be around. Be aware of predatory behaviour.

They’re everywhere. They’re in the podcasts you listen to, the Zoom meetings you attend, get re-tweeted by mutuals.

You probably know who they are.

...you might even be one, but are completely unaware of your actions.

It's just so frustrating.
