"Believe in science", "science is true": Think of all the violence & oppression which have been justified by science throughout history. I am wary of any institution which demands faith & asserts certainty & truth of its own conclusions. It reminds me of religious creeds.
Scientific processes can be valuable for accessing knowledge, but they are fallible and exploitable by powerful, wealthy people. There are other equally valuable means of accessing knowledge, many of which have been suppressed in favor of scientific rationalism.
Eg. intuition, individual & community anecdote & rationality (observation & interpretation), divine revelation. In spite of lived experience, understandings which flow contrary to the established dogma are quickly waved aside as foolish superstition. Rational authoritarianism.
