Day 12 of #ChauvinTrial, Tues 4/13/21.

The Defense is beginning their case now. I hope I can get through this part without having my blood boil. Every person is entitled to a robust defense. But so far everything we've seen of the defense has been frustrating.

1/
1st defense witness: Scott Creighton, retired police officer.

The judge explained this is limited testimony on what happened to Mr. Floyd on a day in early May 6 last year, for the purpose of seeing what effect the drugs have, and not to malign #GeorgeFloyd 's character.

2/
Creighton pulled over a car May 6 and approached passenger side, and the person there was nonresponsive, then arrested. Was also anxious, and turned away from him.

(I'm having a hard time hearing Mr. Nelson too.)

Showing video. You can't really even see what #GeorgeFloyd was doing, couldn't hear him either.
The cop immediately starts in on the profanity and physically intervening. Yeah, police brutality is systemic.

4/
"Based on the court's ruling, I have no further questions for this witness."
Whoa, that was weird. Is that weird?

5/
The witness is reluctant to verify that Mr. Floyd was awake and conscious.

He was able to walk and talk.

The prosecution brought up how he was yelling loudly, using profanity, and had his gun drawn the whole time.

Oh sorry, that "he" was the police officer.

That was pretty leading, defense saying "did you hear the other officer say 'spit it out'?"
Was that on the video? No clue how he could've heard that at any point.

That was the shortest (and frankly most pointless) witness testimony I've ever seen.
