I still have a hard time discussing police brutality because I’ll never forget the fear I felt when I experienced it myself. For standing on a sidewalk. I could’ve died. The only reason I didn’t is because there were cameras out and a crowd.
They threw me into a truck, tightened the cuffs around my wrists. I told them that it was too tight and they tightened them even more and threw me on my wrists nearly breaking them.

The judge threw the citation out immediately when it went to court because it made no sense.
The saddest part is how many people laughed at my brush with death. How many people said I deserved it. I’m trying my hardest to believe that there is hope that people will eventually see this monstrously violent institution for what it is. I just don’t know.
