The pandemic & its impact on human rights has made many people acutely dependent on @IMFnews funds & has also increased the risk of funds being lost to corruption or captured by elites. Govts must "keep the recepts" but those must be publicly accessible, comprehensive & credible.
Together with @hrw, we recently assessed the effectiveness of @IMFnews’s anti-corruption approach during the pandemic by analysing how well four governments carried through on the measures included in their loan agreements.
