gojo has the ability to see the red strings of fate that connect everyone to their soulmates but the only one he can't see is his. nanami who's always had this one red string tied around his ring finger and he's never really had the courage to find out who's at the other end
they bump into each other at a bookstore and for a gojo hits nanami with the "do i know you from somewhere?" pick-up line and nanami has half a mind to ignore him until he felt a gentle tug at the string around his finger and he finds out that it's connected to this man
and at this point nanami's confused as to what he wants to do since he's always hated the red string because he didn't want anyone but himself deciding where he's supposed to go and who he's supposed to be with
ultimately he decides to say "fuck you" to fate and walk away (he'd never admit it but he'd felt a pang of regret when he stepped foot outside the bookstore)
a few hours after he gets home he hears a knock on the door and when he opens it he's met with familiar blue eyes and as he opens his mouth to ask if he was being stalked, but the man from the bookstore looks just as surprised and he says to nanami, "i'm your new neighbour"
nanami is frustrated to say the least because there's really no escaping from this, is there? gojo is very persistent with getting to know him and nanami finds that he can't bring himself to push him away
