Black friends and marginalized people - I chose my activism and advocacy.

You are by definition already traumatized. So don't feel like you must wallow in this to show you care.

Go care for yourself.
I'm not saying don't share your thoughts if you feel moved.

I'm saying it is equally valid and important if you want to curate a place of Black rest and levity.
If you'd rather look at puppies all day? Do that.

Sometimes I write one letter to the President or my state & local representation and go back to bed.
Do whatever makes you feel your freedom. It can be more than one thing.
Oh and white people? Y'all on cleanup duty.

1 - provide comfort or ease for your Black neighbors WITHOUT hand holding from Black people.

Hold each other's hands.
Ideas:

- relieve a burden
- create equity
- elevate Black voices
- surrender your platform to a Black person on the regular
- donate to bail organizations
- donate to community organizers
2- Take. Meaningful. Action.

Ideas

- write to your officials using @resistbot
-go to your local government meetings with stats on police brutality or violence against marginalized people
- educate yourself about why people want to defend, then abolish the police
- educate others on the alternatives
- use talents and resources for the common good
- start a mutual aid thread/organization, get you friends to commit to monthly donatioms
3- Quote tweet this with what your commitment is, however small or large.

INCLUDE A DECLARATION OF SAFE SPACE FROM BLACK TRAUMA.
You can link to an article or video. Don't hurt us for stats & viral views.
Link to it meaning don't put the video directly in the feed.

Even with trigger warnings the video autoplays for many people.

If there's no other good source, you want to thread.
Announce the video in the first tweet of thread. Do all your hashtags.

Then one of these numbers or similar
.
.

for maximum protection.
Then the video can go in the second tweet with TW/CW as needed and

.
That kerjigger again before the video.

Please and thank you.
If this thread helps, I accept tips. I teach, provide resources and share, you pay if it helped & can afford it.

Somehow this works better & better each month, so I’m able to provide free resources.
