One of the things throwing off those numbers is Brady himself. He's won the SB SEVEN times, it's skewing the results. I point to Wilson's tenure with Seattle (shaky as it is) as a healthy example of drafting smart at QB.
By drafting smarter instead of desperate, I'm arguing about the Bucs' draft history with QBs based on immediacy more often than fit. Every time we drafted a QB in the First it was because the team was terrible and desperate to rebuild around a Franchise...
On the other end of the QB drafting woes, if we drafted a mid-rounder QB he ended up not fitting because a new coach would come in with a different scheme (Erickson and King come to mind, Simms was never a fit). Gruden drafted guys so low they had little talent to develop...
