So, because I revealed this weekend I got the J&J shot and I know I will get questions now that the FDA has paused the shot due to 6 reports of blood clots of the more than 6 million doses given out...
I knew of the risk on Friday due to J&J clinics shutting down in other states.
I did my own mind, heart, and gut check and my rational brain won out - the risk is more than extremely rare.
I also know we take risks with medications more often than it might register. Think about the side effects listed on the Rx's we encounter every day. Those loooong lists given to you at the pharmacy?
Why do we ignore those? Or rationalize them?
Is it b/c the medication is more familiar? B/c we tell ourselves it won't be us?
For me, it's the same mind game we're playing right now w/COVID vaccines. You have to do your own mind, heart, and gut check. You do you.
